GSA Program Design

GSA was designed to efficiently provide entrepreneurs with the background knowledge and support to develop and implement their objectives. The program has four primary components:

Entrepreneurs first spend 1-2 days learning the major differences between Chinese and US markets from senior managers of international companies in China and the Peakview fund of funds partner in charge of international affairs. This training covers such critical areas as customer purchasing and adoption patterns, legal frameworks, business culture, and the roles of institutions such as government, banks, telecoms, universities, etc.

Entrepreneurs will then be offered a day of private consultation with a team of senior Peakview managers and consultants who can answer further questions and provide feedback to help refine the entrepreneur’s China business plan.

The next 2-3 days are comprised of training and discussion around the entrepreneur’s industry segment and will help entrepreneurs deeply understand their industry’s development in China. This section will discuss specific business practices and market dynamics within the market segment and include meetings with leading Chinese companies, successful entrepreneurs, and investors.

The entrepreneur is then provided a week’s use of office facilities and basic logistical resources and support to implement their plan. Peakview staff will be on hand to make the entrepreneur’s time in China as effective as possible, helping to arrange details such as travel, interpreters, communications, etc.

Participating Company Selection and Cost

Portfolio companies of VCs and private equity firms invested by Peakview’s fund of funds will be admitted to the GSA program free of charge. Companies that have been finalists in Peakview’s annual Global Innovation Awards program or have received direct investment from Peakview are also admitted free of charge. Entrepreneurs will only be responsible for their own transportation expenses to and from China and their local accommodations. Companies unaffiliated with Peakview or a Peakview portfolio firm may be admitted through a selection process.

Follow-on Networking Opportunities and Services

Peakview will continue to support GSA Program participants through its database of Chinese investors and listed companies with interest in cross-border collaboration and transactions across industry segments. High quality Chinese companies and investors are continually seeking international partnerships, investment opportunities, and potential acquisitions, and Peakview will add long-term value by facilitating these connections.

Global Emerging Growth Forums

The GSA program from time to time sponsors ”Global Emerging Growth Forums” which are sector-focused mini-conferences specific to certain emerging growth industries. Entrepreneurs from around the world operating in these industry sectors are given access and exposure to Chinese investors, entrepreneurs, and listed companies with a specific interest in the sector.
